The main purpose of the role is to ensure the Owner's standards, specifications and technical guidance is maintained and adhered to during the execution and turn-up of critical networks infrastructure on new build hyperscale builds. You will be the primary liaison between the Owner (Client) FTE Partner team to ensure co-ordination of their requirements with the Project / Construction team(s). The OR will be the Owner’s construction facing representative on all aspects of the Telecoms package and Network infrastructure turn up.
Reporting into the Global / Regional Lead, this role is critical to the project and organisations success in transitioning new build hyperscale data centres from construction into operational assets.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contractor project orientation, onboarding and training.
- Quality assurance
- Perform weekly site walks with Construction team(s)
- Ensure EH&S compliance
- Implement the QA/QC checklist
- Quality documentation and Inspection & test plan review
- Ensure Telecoms package schedules are encompassing of all scope with priority cables and completion checklist items incorporated.
- Thorough understanding of progress and ability to produce reports when required for the Owner’s Project Management delivery team and/or snr Management and partner teams.
- Understanding and implementing changes to scope (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Deployments etc).
- Risk and Issue management pertaining to schedule and quality.
- Collate and provide installer with all cable / patching schedules, installation guidelines, training and hardware.
- Ensure all cross functional partner teams are aligned on schedule and sequencing to achieve Turn-Up need by dates.
- Ensure all materials are called off using from system(s)
- Co-ordinate between logistics and installer the deliveries of OFCI fibre bundles rack, optics, patch panels.
- Co-ordinate sign off of installation and porting with partner team(s)
- Join Turn-up focused meeting and present progress status
- Resolve and inflight issues with partner teams and project team(s)
- Weekly progress meetings with the team, subcontractors, stakeholders
- Feedback issues to design team and OR’s on other site and regions
- Ensure standardisation wherever possible with NASA and APAC Regions
- Owner system for Cables routes and rack layouts / SAP - Calling off and managing owner furnished materials, bundled fibre, optics, air flow items.
- IMS - Project milestone and scheduling – P6 schedule
- BIM - Building information & modelling
- Fluxx - execution system for long-running workflows
- Owner’s internal ticketing tool for tracking issues
- Talos / viewpoint - JIT fibre info and need by dates
- AODocs | Cloud Document Management - information repository
