- Core Hard Skills (Design & Drafting Capabilities)
Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in UG NX (preferred) or SolidWorks for 3D die design. Highly skilled in AutoCAD and PressCAD for 2D strip layout and component detailing.
- Strip Layout Design: Proven ability to independently design strip layouts for precision terminal progressive dies (20~40+ stations). Deep understanding of carrier design, pilot pin placement, and micro-lancing to ensure stable strip feeding at high speeds.
- Bending & Springback Control (Critical): Expertise in various forming processes (V-bend, U-bend, Z-bend, embossing, bridging). Must be able to predict and pre-compensate for springback based on material properties (yield strength) and incorporate adjustment mechanisms (e.g., wedges, slides) into the design.
- Anti-Marking & Anti-Slug Retention:
*Anti-Marking:* Experience designing stripper inserts with localized clearance, air-blow structures, and lifter pins to prevent marks on pre-plated (tin/gold) sensitive surfaces.
*Anti-Slug Retention:* Proficient in designing shear angles, undercut relief grooves on punches, and vacuum suction holes to prevent slug pulling/jumping.
