The Assistant Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts. The role ensures that projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality and compliance with contractual and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for construction projects
- Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project efficiency
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts
- Manage variations, claims, and final accounts
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations
- Assess and certify interim and final payments
- Identify and manage project risks related to cost and procurement
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients
