The Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) plays a critical role within construction management, overseeing high-risk, temporary engineering and construction activities.

Core responsibilities
- Ensure temporary works are properly planned, coordinated, and controlled throughout pre-construction and construction phases.
- Promote safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of temporary works in line with civil engineering best practice within a complex and growing project pipeline.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, applying professional judgement while recognising project interdependencies and wider impacts of decisions.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior management, contributing to strategy development within construction and civil engineering disciplines.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with temporary works, while coordinating closely with site teams and supporting the Construction Management (CM) function.
- Influence strategic direction by proposing improvements and actions within UKAEA governance and budgetary frameworks.
- Maintain accountability and ensure compliance with CDM 2015 Regulations, reducing the risk of design errors, unsafe structures, and site incidents.
- Underpin UKAEA’s safety-first culture, strengthen multidisciplinary coordination, enhance project delivery, and safeguard organisational reputation.
