The salary for this role is £35,003 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance).
Onsite working is expected for 5 days a week.

This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role
As Maintenance & Compliance Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the IED-TPM-MAC Manager in the day to day maintenance of technical plant and workshops across site, and to provide support for other departments within the IED team at hands on level preparing materials for processing, and basic maintenance of plant.
This is a role that has a combination of ‘practical hands-on’ aspects, alongside developing and implementing procedural documentation to meet the Quality Assurance, validation and regulatory requirements for the UKAEA’s asset management.
This position will be engaged in ensuring the preventative maintenance schedules (PM’s) and Corrective maintenance activities are completed efficiently for compliance for our ISO standards. (ISO 9001 & ISO 55000)
Knowledge of manufacturing methods, the ability to read engineering drawings, and the ability to write technical specifications is essential to this role.
Key Accountabilities:
- To assist with the routine asset management programme database for ensuring the preventative maintenance schedules (PM’s) and Corrective maintenance activities are completed efficiently for maintenance of the site Workshops, and Special Techniques group plant.
- Responsible for the Written Safe Systems of Work and local procedures, including method statements for maintaining the plant and general Examine, Maintain, Inspect and test (EMIT) scheduled work.
- To support the development and implementation of the site asset management project as additional facilities are introduced.
- Assist with maintaining the local document library and associated folders.
- Responsible for the first line fault finding and rectification of mechanical corrective maintenance activities for equipment and associated plant.
- Ensure the workshop and process waste is managed correctly using on site Waste IT (online waste management system)
- Responsible for stock taking and maintaining correct levels of consumables and general service items to ensure projects can be delivered.
- Provide support to process teams by preparing production items for process.
- Responsible for tracking production items from incoming, processing and outgoing.
- Responsible for scheduling and the oversite of service engineer visits to site and build, maintain and manage supplier relationships.
- Able to incorporate basic mechanical engineering theoretical skills to develop manufacturing and improvement projects and suggest improvements to working processes & methods.
