About the role
Tieto Banktech is on a strategic journey to embed artificial intelligence at the core of our products. We're looking for someone who can drive this from both ends — hands-on implementation and cross-functional leadership — ensuring our AI initiatives deliver real business value while meeting the regulatory and organizational requirements of the banking sector.
You'll work across autonomous, multidisciplinary product teams, helping them identify high-impact use cases, build AI-powered features, and adopt modern AI tools and ways of working. Over time, you'll also play a key role in shaping our AI strategy, defining governance practices, and driving reuse of AI capabilities across the organization.
What you'll work on
- Identify and evaluate AI use cases across products and internal processes
- Support teams through the full journey from prototype to production — including architecture, model selection, prompt design, and integration patterns
- Develop and integrate AI solutions directly into existing products and workflows
- Continuously optimize deployed AI solutions for performance, cost, reliability, and quality
- Provide guidance on data usage, regulatory considerations, and responsible AI practices in a banking context
- Drive reuse of AI components and patterns across the organization
- Support Sales and Bid teams in RFP responses related to AI capabilities
- Build internal AI communities and promote knowledge sharing across teams
Who we're looking for
You have a strong engineering background and a genuine passion for AI — not just as a concept, but as something that lives and delivers value in production. You're comfortable moving between hands-on implementation and strategic discussions, and you thrive working across multiple teams and problem areas simultaneously.
You likely have experience with some of the following:
- Hands-on development of AI systems, including LLM integration, context and prompt design, and orchestration using modern SDKs and agent frameworks (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph)
- Prompt and context optimization, including evaluation-driven development, LLM-based evals (LLM-as-judge), and automated optimization techniques (e.g. DSPy, GEPA)
- RAG pipelines, including embeddings, vector databases, and hybrid retrieval
- Agentic workflows and tool use, including function calling and multi-step reasoning
- ML/LLM deployment, inference, and monitoring, including high-performance serving (e.g. vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT-LLM) and LLMOps/MLOps
- REST APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Python and/or JVM languages (Java/Kotlin)
Beyond the technical skills, you're able to bridge technical, business, and compliance perspectives — and you have the communication and stakeholder management skills to bring teams along with you. Experience driving cross-team initiatives or organizational change is a plus.
