As part of the ESA team you will have the following responsibilities:
- Assist in providing systems engineering support and consultancy to ESA projects, programmes and studies, with focus on – but not limited to - early project phases;
- Support project reviews and the evaluation of proposals;
- Aid developing and promoting the digitalisation of systems engineering, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and infuse them into projects;
- Participate in feasibility studies conducted in the CDF;
- Contribute to the development and improvement of tools and methods for systems and concurrent engineering;
- Propose, develop and encourage new applications of the concurrent engineering approach, fostering multidisciplinary activities, with the emphasis on innovative concepts, cutting-edge technologies and systems architectures;
- Provide inputs to the definition and implementation of the ESA technology strategy;
- Support the definition of R&D work plans and the procurement and execution of industrial activities;
- Aid the definition, initiation and management of R&D activities under ESA's technology programmes;
- Monitor scientific and technological trends for systems and concurrent engineering and MBSE and maintaining corresponding state-of-the-art expertise;
- Contribute to the improvement of standardisation in systems and concurrent engineering, via ESA internal processes and lessons learned, and by liaising with the ECSS Authority;
- Contribute to the promotion of concurrent, collaborative and model-based systems, engineering across the Agency and its partners;
- Support the capture and dissemination of knowledge and lessons learned across the Agency.
