.Is accountable for assisting Senior Credit Manager in the day-to-day execution of the credit portfolio.
Complete and compile credit papers which adequately reflect counter party risks for new or annual reviews of existing facilities. Present credit papers and make recommendations to the appropriate DA ( Delegated Authority) levels and credit committee
Daily management, escalation and control of portfolio irregularities. Maintain data accuracy in Credit and Bank systems. Participate in projects as delegated from time to time.
Participate in and remain abreast of market and economic developments. Stay attuned to industry and market risk developments and trends in relation to both sovereign and counterparty exposures and their impact on the underlying portfolios.
Provide recommendations & exercise judgement, sanctioning excesses within Delegated Authority limits. Coordinate & ensure post-approval implementation of facilities & legal documentation in line with the conditions of sanction by liaising with credit & legal, & by reviewing inputs. Manage portfolio actively by following up & address non-adherence to terms & conditions of sanction by counterparties. Consider the inherent risk & make recommendations to regularise or mitigate increased risk.
Understand the Banks internal rating models and their risk drivers, and translate this information into a rating using the correct rating model. Use variable to determine the correct risk grade, which impacts the conditions and covenants that are put in place should credit be granted.
Undertake quantitative and qualitative financial analysis to develop a comprehensive understanding of counter party risks for new or increased facilities. This may include, the analysis of the essential elements of risk such as; assets, threats, vulnerabilities, safeguards, consequences and the likelihood of the threats materialising. Conduct annual risk reviews of counterparties and monitor covenants and conditions on the existing portfolio base.
