A qualified Diesel Mechanic /Technician will be able to diagnose, provide estimates, and repairs on highly complex electrical and mechanical systems, on class eight tractors. You will routinely make best valued decisions with SAFETY as the determining factor regarding continued operation VS, repair or replace, then perform technical repairs and replacement. Uses technical publications and other internet-based manuals, technical guides, or check sheets. Some employees in this role function as local shop subject matter experts [SME] on all tractor systems. Further, the same may be a resource for Warranty, the Senior Maintenance Leadership Team, and Training Department.

Maintain excellent customer service while providing quality and efficient repairs on Class 8 Tractor and Trailers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Value our customers with a high standard of excellence in quality & efficient repairs as well as excellent customer service
Diagnose, repair & maintain Class 8 tractors and trailers by analyzing diagnostic test results (computerized, sound, visual, feel, smell, etc.)
Conduct road tests as needed for diagnosis of repairs and quality of repair completion
Perform Federal DOT inspections as well as preventative maintenance
Perform light and heavy-duty repairs
Maintain company owned tools
Maintain company owned service trucks
Participate in company paid training & continuing education of OEM spec changes
