The Assistant Superintendent supports the General Superintendent or Superintendent in coordinating daily on‑site construction activities, ensuring the project runs safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications. This role supports managing scheduling, manpower, materials, and subcontractors while maintaining site documentation and assisting in resolving on‑site issues to keep the project on track.
The salary range for this position is $140,000 CAD - $180,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
- Assist the General Superintendent or Superintendent in managing on‑site work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor work performance to ensure project rules and procedures are followed.
- Advise the General Superintendent or Superintendent of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and help resolve them
Planning, Scheduling & Resource Coordination
- Support planning and implementation of schedules, manpower levels, material quantities, inspections, and equipment needs.
- Ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.
- Maintain and analyze up‑to‑date cost reports and recommend changes to keep the project within budget.
Supervision & Safety Management
- Supervise employees and subcontractors to achieve project deliverables.
- Apply and enforce the Project Specific Safety Program and ensure compliance with HS&E standards, OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Oversee accurate project reporting, including site progress, events, and inspections.
- Meet with consultants, trades, and other stakeholders professionally, communicating concerns and representing the company’s best interests.
