Competent to independently provide clinical and professional services in therapeutic medical physics.
Consults and collaborates with Radiation Oncologists and allied health personnel.
Supports treatment planning and patient-specific radiation dosing.
Ensures radiation safety for patients, staff, and the general public.
Key Duties
Develop, test, and commission radiation therapy, brachytherapy, simulation, and treatment-planning equipment; ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
Establish and maintain policies and procedures for clinical use of radiation and technical operations.
Perform radiation measurements, acceptance testing, and equipment evaluations prior to clinical implementation.
Review and evaluate patient dosimetry and collaborate with physicians and dosimetrist on treatment planning.
Lead quality management and radiation safety programs, including shielding design and evaluation.
Provide technical leadership for radiation oncology staff and support program development.
Deliver consultation, training, and expertise in radiation dose, imaging applications, and informatics.
Execute brachytherapy quality assurance procedures, oversee all radioactive source exchange activities, and participate in treatment planning and delivery for the brachytherapy program.
