A Day in the Life
Ensure Safety & Professional Conduct: Follow all safety procedures, use proper body mechanics, report unsafe conditions, adhere to radiation safety standards (including ALARA, shielding, and collimation), and maintain a professional appearance.
Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Care for patients from arrival to departure, communicate with courtesy and discretion, safely transfer and position patients, provide immobilization and protection, and assist in first aid or emergencies when needed.
Perform Imaging Procedures Accurately: Operate imaging equipment using proper technical factors, select and load appropriate cassettes, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and assist physicians with contrast media, sterile procedures, and patient handling.
Maintain Equipment, Rooms & Supplies: Keep imaging rooms clean and stocked, prevent cross-contamination, secure supplies, report equipment malfunctions, handle equipment responsibly, and complete necessary clerical duties.
Support Department Operations & Professional Growth: Assume delegated responsibilities when leadership is absent, assist with additional equipment or procedures as needed, and participate in continuing education to maintain and expand skills.
