The Senior Unified Communications Engineer’s primary role will be responsible for designing, implementing, migrating, and supporting complex Cisco Unified Communications and UCaaS environments. This role will focus on large-scale On-Prem Cisco CUCM to Webex Calling Cloud migrations for one of the world’s largest financial institutions, while ensuring stability, scalability, and an excellent collaboration experience for employees and clients.
This position will act as an individual contributor and will be part of the company’s Global Unified Communications Engineering team, which owns the design, development, delivery, and overall experience of Unified Communications platforms across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Perform the design, implementation, migration, and ongoing management of the company’s Cisco Unified Communications and Webex Calling environment.
- Take end-to-end ownership of highly complex UC projects, including planning, execution, migration, validation, and post-go-live support.
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex UC and UCaaS projects, including planning, execution, migration, validation, and post‑go‑live support.
- Drive on‑prem Cisco UC (CUCM) to Webex Calling Cloud migrations, covering user and device migration, hybrid configurations, and integration using CUBE as Local Gateway.
- Administer and support Cisco UC platforms including CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressway (C & E, MRA), CUBE, Webex Control Hub, and Webex Contact Center, along with upgrades, patching, certificate management, and lifecycle activities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal technical teams to define solution designs, implementation plans, technical standards, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain runbooks, operational procedures, and support documentation, while monitoring system health using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or equivalent platforms.
- Provide advanced incident management, troubleshooting, and strategic guidance, including architecture presentations, migration strategies, technology roadmaps, and compliance with security and governance standards.
