Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities during the summer program. The paraprofessional will work under the direction of a certified special education teacher to help students maintain essential academic, behavioral, and functional skills outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students in small group and one-on-one settings
- Assist in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Support students with academic tasks, communication, and social skills
- Reinforce instruction and practice skills introduced by the teacher
- Assist with behavior management and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Support students with daily living or functional skills as needed
- Collect data and provide feedback to the teacher on student progress
- Assist with classroom setup, materials, and organization
