About the Role
As a People & Culture Partner, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders, driving people initiatives that enable business performance, strengthen leadership capability and shape a high-performing culture across several brands within our Group. Working closely with leaders and embedded within the business, you’ll navigate complex people matters with confidence, identify talent and capability opportunities, and proactively drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment where responsiveness, sound judgment, initiative and attention to detail are critical to success.
What you'll do
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on policies, procedures and people best practices.
- Drive people matters through to resolution, ensuring risks, performance concerns and stakeholder issues are proactively managed and do not lose momentum.
- Build trusted relationships through regular engagement with leaders and teams, developing a strong understanding of business priorities, capability gaps and talent opportunities.
- Drive and deliver strategic people initiatives and projects aligned with business objectives, taking a practical and data-informed approach.
- Facilitate and manage employee lifecycle activities including performance and salary reviews, talent and succession planning, performance management, onboarding, offboarding, reward and recognition.
- Provide advice regarding disciplinary, performance and grievance matters, ensuring supporting policies and procedures meet legislative and business requirements.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality and professionalism across all communication, documentation and people processes.
- Partner with leaders to identify high-potential talent, capability gaps and development opportunities, and support actionable plans to address them.
- Actively coach and mentor members within the People team.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and proactively recommend ways to enhance our people and culture approach.
What you'll bring
- High ownership and responsiveness: you take accountability for driving outcomes, following through quickly, and keeping stakeholders informed. You proactively manage priorities, communicate progress, escalate when needed, and ensure momentum is maintained on critical people matters.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality: you produce accurate, polished and high-quality work with strong attention to detail across communication, documentation and people processes. You take pride in getting the details right and building trust through consistency and reliability.
- Trusted partner to the business: you proactively support the business on people-related matters, building credibility through sound advice, consistency, and a deep understanding of their challenges.
- Bias for action and comfort to work at pace: you thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift quickly, and imperfect information is often the norm. You can assess risk, exercise sound judgment and move people matters forward without overcomplicating or delaying decisions.
- Visible and embedded business partnering style: you build strong relationships through visibility, responsiveness and regular engagement with leaders and teams. You actively seek to understand the business, identify risks and opportunities early, and translate insight into action.
- Strong relationship skills: you connect easily with others and can flex your style to establish effective relationships. You lead others with emotional intelligence and accountability.
- Confident and solutions-oriented approach: you are comfortable navigating challenging people situations, influencing stakeholders, and constructively pushing conversations forward to resolution. You know when to coach, when to challenge, and when to escalate.
- Experienced HR advisor with solid foundations: you bring broad HR generalist experience and strong knowledge of Australian employment law, confidently managing the full employee life cycle with professionalism and care.
- Business acumen: you understand the nature and interdependencies of business functions and supporting processes. You can connect the dots with what’s happening in our business and industry, to maximise results.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills: you’re highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities effectively, and comfortable using data and insights to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- LEAP is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all of the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.
