Decision Technologies seeks a qualified Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Field Technician – LCS Radar(s) to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Position Description:
Provide administrative support for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) whose purpose is to provide technical and logistics products and services for Navy radar and combat systems under the direction of an IPT Leader.
MUST HAVE an active Secret security clearance
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Provide assistance to ships force in maintenance and troubleshooting of LCS radar(s). Document results of maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution actions. Provide distance support and/or shipboard troubleshooting for fleet CASREPs and requests for technical assistance.
· Support engineering efforts related to development, testing and analysis of LCS radar(s) upgrades, replacement or modifications.
· Support LCS Class new ship modernization efforts by providing technical advice and assistance during installation of LCS radars, ensuring proper installation and providing troubleshooting assistance.
· Support new construction ship Builder’s Trials, evaluating radar performance and installation for operational suitability.
· Assist in the development of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and Ship Alteration Records (SAR), which reflect system installation plans and configurations.
· Prepare lab and classrooms spaces in support of radar upgrades (new acquisition and legacy systems) and modifications.
· Act as liaison with RMC/RMMCO to ensure proper processing of installation data and schedule requirements necessary for the unimpeded check-in processing of Alteration Installation Teams (AITs).
· Perform post installation light-off and checkout including System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) and On-the-Job Training (OJT).
Required Qualifications and Skills:
· Practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting shipboard air search radar systems such as AN/SPY-1, SPS-48, SPS-49, or similar (required). LCS or USCG (AN/SPS-75, SPS-77, SPS-80, BridgeMaster, Sharp Eye) radars in particular (highly desired)
· Practical experience writing technical reports and documenting maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
· Familiar with the US Navy installation planning process.
