Make your mark in this exciting opportunity to work at Australia’s leading data centres.
Established in 2007, CDC Data Centres is Australia’s leading operator of sovereign, secure, world-class data centre facilities. Headquartered in Canberra with multiple facilities in the ACT, NSW, VIC and New Zealand, CDC’s diversified operations provide secure data centre configurations that support co-location, containerised and hyperscale compute environments with all campuses interconnected with high-speed carrier grade networks.
At CDC we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. We believe that everyone’s unique experiences enable us to deliver meaningful benefits for our people, our clients and communities. Our mission is to attract, retain and grow the world’s best data centre team. Our people are responsive, innovative and trusted in supporting our customers. Together, we configure the landscape to meet the security, reliability, connectivity and sustainability needs for today and tomorrow.
At CDC, our Service Technicians work in live data centre environments, supporting the operation of mission‑critical infrastructure.
If you’ve spent time in electrical, HVAC, or industrial environments, a lot of this will feel familiar. Working to procedures, taking safety seriously, and understanding the impact of your work is critical. A data centre applies those same principles to power, cooling, fire systems and monitoring, all operating continuously. The difference is the environment, the scale, and the opportunity to apply your skills in a stable, growing industry.
Data centre experience isn’t required. We welcome people from a range of hands‑on technical backgrounds and provide training and support to help you apply your existing skills in a more operational, monitoring‑focused environment.
What you’ll be doing day‑to‑day:
This role works on a rotating 24/7 shift roster (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) and suits individuals who are comfortable making decisions, following defined processes, and working calmly in high‑reliability environments.
Our training program provides tailored content through our CDC Academy, specifically designed for individuals starting out in this role. You'll learn hands-on by shadowing and working alongside our experienced Service Technicians, gaining essential knowledge to develop your skillset.
CDC offers excellent employment conditions and benefits such as:
You have experience working in environments where reliability, safety, and procedure matter - whether that’s through an electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or broader critical infrastructure background.
You might be a qualified electrician or HVAC technician looking to move away from a traditional tools‑based role and into operations, or someone earlier in their technical career who is curious about how large‑scale, mission‑critical environments operate.
Regardless of background, we value motivation, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop within a growing industry.
