Position Summary
Upper Crust Food Service is seeking a skilled Senior Staff Accountant or Assistant Controller to support the financial close process and maintain the integrity of our general ledger. The right candidate will own the day-to-day accounting execution — close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Close
• Lead or support month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and subledgers to the general ledger
• Proactively identify manual and inefficient processes and manage automation efforts using NetSuite modules, saved searches, and workflow tools
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Financial Reporting
• Produce monthly financial statements and internal management reporting
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed to inform business decisions
Compliance & Controls
• Support internal controls documentation and process improvement
• Assist with audit preparation and coordination with the external accounting and audit firms
• Produce and track sales tax reports
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with AP, AR, Payroll, and operations teams to provide accounting support
• Serve as a NetSuite resource for the accounting team and cross-functional partners
• Other duties as assigned
