Position Overview
The Manager will be part of BSR’s expert team of human rights professionals. They will manage human rights projects for companies in the APAC region, and for this reason BSR’s Tokyo office is the preferred location for the successful candidate.
BSR’s global consulting work covers a range of human rights issues, including civil, political, economic, tech, social, and cultural rights. It encompasses a range of work, such as assessing the human rights impacts, risks, and opportunities of companies; developing mitigation strategies, policies, and impact management plans; developing remediation plans; supporting human rights reporting and stakeholder engagement efforts; addressing human rights in the supply chain; and supporting BSR’s Human Rights Working Group. The Manager will also be a part of the larger APAC consulting team and may support other sustainability projects beyond human rights as needed.
At BSR we have implemented a transparent total compensation framework with an emphasis on internal equity. To maintain our equity, our hiring rate for this position is ¥ 9,497,704.
Responsibilities
The Manager will assume responsibility for managing member relationships and projects. This will require:
BSR leads several human rights initiatives which involve regular quarterly meetings and discussions with groups of more than 20 companies. The Manager will be expected to make a significant contribution to the success of one or more of these collaborative initiatives focused on human rights.
