Overview:
Essel is seeking a highly organized and motivated Superintendent to oversee construction and environmental remediation projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Superintendent will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage resources, and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage multiple construction and remediation projects across various sites.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily work activities and resources to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Direct and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Monitor project progress and quality to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and progress updates.
- Identify and resolve issues that may affect project timelines or budgets.
- Assist in cost estimating, procurement, and contract administration as needed.
- Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports and promote professional development.
- Travel to job sites as necessary (up to 50%).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in construction supervision or environmental remediation projects.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and construction best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel frequently as required.
- Relevant supervisor training or certifications are a plus.
Requirements
- 8+ years of supervisory experience in construction or environmental remediation.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office, project management tools).
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Relevant supervisor training preferred.
