The Estimator will play a critical role in supporting the successful pursuit of tendering opportunities by delivering accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop winning pricing strategies and ensure seamless transition from pre-contract (tendering) to project execution phases.
Job Description:
- Communicate commercial and technical aspects of estimates effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support tendering activities to secure profitable and technically compliant work scopes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and achieve business objectives.
- Facilitate the handover of pre-contract information to project execution teams.
- Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies and optimized equipment/labor solutions.
- Prepare detailed cost and manpower estimates for onshore oil & gas projects.
- Utilize company-approved estimating tools, software, and methodologies.
- Interpret RFQs, drawings, and client requirements to develop accurate project estimates.
- Define labor and equipment requirements when client data is limited.
- Lead and coordinate proposal development, including, basis of estimate, scope definition, contract qualifications
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and job walks; document all relevant client communications.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, tools, and historical cost records.
- Prepare supporting documentation such as layouts, bid reviews, schedules, and tracking reports.
- Develop comprehensive estimates including: Management services, Equipment and materials, Construction and operational costs.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of estimating practices, tools, and software systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of accuracy with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid technical understanding of oil & gas operations.
- Experience with offshore pipeline and subsea pre-commissioning scopes.
- Hands-on field experience in a relevant technical discipline.
- 8–10+ years of experience in a similar estimating role within North America.
