About the role
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented FinOps Analyst to support cloud financial management operations. In this role, you will be the analytical engine that translates raw cloud consumption data into actionable financial insights. You will work closely with a US-based FinOps Lead / Customer Success Manager , providing the data modeling and reporting necessary to drive client decision-making and FinOps strategy. Whether you are identifying optimization opportunities, developing spend forecasts across multi-cloud environments, or building dashboards, your expertise will help clients maximize their cloud investments. This role is ideal for someone with a background in a cloud consulting firm or managed services provider (MSP).
What you will do:
- Cloud Financial Reporting: Analyze cloud billing and usage data across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will produce recurring reports covering spend trends, cost allocation, and variance analysis , and build reporting artifacts and dashboards for client consumption.
- Cost Optimization Analysis: Identify opportunities for cloud cost optimization, including idle resources, rightsizing, commitment optimization, and storage efficiency. You will quantify potential savings and provide the supporting analysis.
- Forecasting & Financial Planning: Develop cloud spend forecasts based on historical usage patterns and projected growth. You will support monthly and quarterly financial forecasting exercises and track forecast versus actual spend to identify variance drivers.
- Data Analysis & Query Development: Query and manipulate large cloud billing datasets , building custom analyses and integrating data from multiple sources, including cloud billing exports and cost management platforms.
- FinOps Program Support: Support the delivery of FinOps services, including cost transparency, optimization programs, and KPI tracking. You will prepare analysis and insights for client review sessions led by the FinOps Lead.
What you bring:
- Extensive Experience: 3–7 years of experience in cloud financial management, cloud operations, or FinOps , with at least 3+ years specifically working with cloud billing or cloud financial analysis.
- Core Certification: You must be a FinOps Certified Practitioner or be actively pursuing the certification.
- Multi-Cloud & Cost Expertise: Experience working with multi-cloud environments, specifically supporting at least two platforms among AWS, Azure, and GCP. You must have a strong understanding of cloud cost drivers like compute, storage, data transfer, and commitment discounts.
- Technical & Tooling Fluency: Hands-on experience using cloud cost management platforms for reporting, optimization insights, and cost allocation. You must have the ability to query and analyze datasets using SQL, data analysis tools, or scripting.
- Exceptional Communication: Strong reporting and analytical communication skills , paired with strong English proficiency to effectively translate analysis into insights for business stakeholders.
