About the Role
Azzip Pizza’s Shift Leaders are exactly as the name implies – leaders. Shift Leaders are very hands on, but they are also more than just super-Team Members. They aren’t just expected to supervise a team, but they must be able to motivate, influence, and help the entire team contribute to the success of the store. With the additional expectations, Shift Leader starting pay is $17.65+ per hour including $14.65 per hour base pay plus a $3 per hour tip guarantee. Shift Leaders also earn Paid Time Off, a free pizza every shift, and receive health care benefits if full-time.
Essential Function
An Azzip Shift Leader ensures the continued success of the store when the GM or AGM is not present by ensuring employees and customers have positive experiences. A Shift Leader is responsible for leading the Azzip culture and ensuring the shift meets Azzip’s high standards for uncommonly great pizza, authentic customer service, and a spotless dining room.
Duties
- Lead by example for team members in all aspects of their roles through hands-on work related to pizza making, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized restaurant.
- Open the store by creating, prioritizing, and delegating a morning prep list.
- Close the store by completing nightly reports, ensuring cleaning tasks completed appropriately, and handling bank deposits.
- Teach and coach employees to make sure all team members are following Azzip’s standards related to ingredient preparation, pizza making, and customer service.
- Communicate and resolve customer and employee concerns and/or elevate issues when appropriate.
- Place nightly vendor orders as needed.
- Foster a fun work environment by bringing and keeping a positive attitude.
Work Environment
- Fast paced and energetic kitchen with a focus on teamwork and customer experience.
- Kitchen environment can become hot from running ovens and other equipment. Air conditioning and ventilation systems are in place to make the environment as comfortable as possible.
- Exposure to airborne particulates from flour dust and other dry ingredients that may affect air quality.
- Exposure to allergens.
- Moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands
- Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
