About the Role (Your Why)

As a People & Culture Manager within our Managed Operations Business, you won't just be supporting the Unit — you'll be a trusted strategic partner sitting at the heart of a large-scale, technically driven organisation. You'll work alongside senior leaders and executives to shape and drive people strategy across a diverse and dynamic workforce, where your ability to influence, engage and navigate complex stakeholder relationships will be your greatest asset.
This is a high-visibility role where your voice matters, your ideas are valued, and your work directly shapes the culture and capability of a business operating at significant scale.
What You’ll Do
Strategic People Partnership
- Act as a key strategic partner to senior leaders and executives, translating business objectives into people and culture initiatives that deliver real outcomes
- Lead the development and implementation of HR strategy aligned to Datacom's broader business direction
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across a large, technically complex organisation to establish strategic workforce plans and objectives
- Drive decision-making that meaningfully impacts the success of the business
Stakeholder Management & Influence
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with a wide network of internal stakeholders — from frontline leaders through to executives
- Navigate complex organisational dynamics, using your influencing skills to drive alignment and gain buy-in on matters of strategic significance
- Serve as a credible advisor to leaders, providing data-informed insights and recommendations on complex people challenges
Culture, Engagement & Retention
- Champion a high-performance culture by designing and delivering engagement and retention strategies that resonate across a large, technical workforce
- Lead initiatives that strengthen organisational culture, connection and belonging at scale
- Drive continuous improvement & innovation across people processes utilising AI and Digital technologies to enhance the employee experience end-to-end
Employee Relations
- Ensure the workforce is aligned to business growth, cost structures and capability needs
- Manage organisational changes and associated employee relations
Financial & Operational Management
- Establish and maintain adherence to work plans, schedules and performance requirements
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of broad corporate experience, with a minimum of 5+ years in a senior HR role — ideally within a large, complex or technology-driven organisation
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of engaging and influencing senior leaders and executives
- Strong strategic acumen — you can see the big picture, connect the dots, and translate strategy into practical action
- Deep understanding of how technology businesses operate, with the ability to speak the language of a technical workforce
- A natural relationship builder who is equally comfortable in a boardroom as you are on the floor with teams
- Proven negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and achieve outcomes that work for all parties
- Experience managing people and teams within a large-scale environment
- Solid knowledge of employment legislation and compliance requirements
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills — you can convey complex ideas simply and confidently across all levels of the organisation
