The Pricing Director is responsible for developing compliant, competitive, and financially sound pricing strategies in support of both government and commercial business. This role leads the preparation of cost proposals, pricing models, and financial analyses to support new business pursuits, contract modifications, and strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of FAR/DFARS regulations, experience with commercial pricing practices, and the ability to partner cross-functionally to deliver accurate and compelling proposals. This position plays a critical role in balancing competitiveness with profitability while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead development of pricing strategies for government and commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market conditions
- Prepare detailed cost proposals, including labor, material, subcontractor, indirect rates, and fee structures
- Develop and maintain pricing models and cost build-ups in support of bids, proposals, and contract modifications
- Analyze historical data, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform pricing decisions
- Support “what-if” scenario modeling and risk analysis to optimize pricing strategies
- Ensure all pricing activities comply with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other applicable regulations
- Support audits and reviews (e.g., DCAA) by maintaining accurate and complete documentation
- Interpret RFP/RFQ requirements and ensure pricing submissions meet all contractual and regulatory requirements
- Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and assess impact to pricing practices
- Perform cost analysis, margin analysis, and profitability assessments for new and existing programs
- Support development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and cost narratives
- Collaborate with Finance to align pricing with approved indirect rates, forward pricing rate agreements (FPRAs), and budgets
- Track and report pricing metrics, win rates, and pricing effectiveness
- Partner with Business Development, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to gather inputs and develop compliant proposals
- Lead pricing reviews and participate in color team reviews (Pink/Red/Gold Teams)
- Support negotiations with customers by providing pricing rationale, analysis, and supporting documentation
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on pricing strategies and compliance requirements
- Lead continuous improvement efforts related to pricing processes, templates, and tools
- Maintain and enhance pricing systems and databases
- Utilize ProPricer (or similar tools) to develop, manage, and standardize proposal pricing
- Develop best practices for proposal development and pricing governance

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in pricing, cost analysis, or government contracting finance
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and government pricing requirements
