The Teamcenter Systems Administrator II is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and operational support of Siemens Teamcenter PLM environments within the Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem. This role serves as the backbone of our Teamcenter PLM service teams, ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of infrastructure supporting both production and non-production environments our U.S. Department of Defense customers.
This role manages cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure (primarily AWS GovCloud) that hosts Teamcenter and all associated components, including application servers, databases, file management systems, and supporting enterprise services. Responsibilities include installing Siemens software, applying patch updates, performing system upgrades and rehost activities, maintaining environment baselines, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
This role also supports development teams by maintaining standardized Teamcenter environment images and infrastructure configurations, enabling developers to efficiently build, test, and deploy Teamcenter solutions. Additionally, the administrator performs ongoing system maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure the stability and performance of our customers’ Teamcenter platform.
The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of experience administering Teamcenter environments, including installations, upgrades, rehosting, and infrastructure management within Red Hat Enterprise Linux–based environments, and experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-hosted deployments. The ideal candidate must also be proficient in both on-prem and cloud-based implementations. They must have the ability to work independently and have demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to support Teamcenter environments that meet performance, security, and operational requirements.
- Design, configure, and maintain Teamcenter infrastructure environments, including application servers, web tiers, databases, file vaults, and supporting services across development, test, and production environments.
- Review and optimize infrastructure configurations to improve system performance, scalability, availability, and cost efficiency, including implementing clustering, load balancing, backup/recovery strategies, and storage optimization.
- Install, configure, and maintain Siemens Teamcenter and associated Xcelerator components, including applying patches, upgrades, and security updates.
- Design, develop, and maintain a Teamcenter image to be shared with Teamcenter Developers to support their daily work.
- Perform Teamcenter environment rehosts, environment refreshes, and data synchronization activities between production and non-production environments.
- Monitor and maintain Teamcenter system health, performance, and availability, including diagnosing infrastructure, networking, and platform-related issues.
- Administer Teamcenter system configuration and platform services, including licensing, server configuration, service management, and environment governance.
- Apply security hardening practices, including implementation of DoD STIGs, patch management, and vulnerability remediation across infrastructure and application components.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for environment architecture, installation procedures, and operational maintenance activities.
- Support comprehensive testing efforts for major releases and bug fixing, including unit, integration, and system testing ensuring Teamcenter configuration and customizations meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
- Debug and resolve complex application/customization defects and issues.
- Remain current on Siemens Teamcenter platform updates, infrastructure architecture patterns, and operational best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently hold or able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Siemens Teamcenter certifications or equivalent platform administration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other Engineering discipline.
