The Compliance Analyst is responsible for conducting sanctions and watchlist screening activities to support the organization’s compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role involves reviewing alerts, identifying potential matches, performing investigations, documenting findings, and escalating true matches or high-risk cases as appropriate.
This role plays a critical part in helping mitigate regulatory, financial, and reputational risk to the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct sanctions screening reviews for customers, brokers, vendors, transactions, and other applicable entities using approved screening tools and systems.
- Review and analyze alerts generated from sanctions and watchlist screening systems.
- Investigate potential matches against global sanctions lists including OFAC and other regulatory or internal watchlists.
- Determine whether alerts are false positives or require escalation for further review.
- Document investigations, findings, and decisions accurately and in accordance with compliance standards and audit requirements.
- Escalate potential true matches, suspicious findings, or high-risk cases to Compliance leadership or appropriate stakeholders.
- Support ongoing monitoring activities and periodic reviews.
- Maintain adherence to internal compliance procedures, SLAs, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with business, operations, legal, and compliance teams to resolve issues and ensure timely processing.
