The Student Success Strategies unit within the Student Success Division seeks a proactive, deadline-oriented, and adaptable Student Data Assistant. Reporting to the Assistant Provost for Transfer and Non-Traditional Student Success, the successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver with experience in data storytelling and producing high-quality presentation materials tailored to diverse audiences. This role supports the Assistant Provost in conceptualizing and facilitating student, alumni, faculty, and staff focus groups, translating data into actionable insights, conducting literature reviews, and contributing to reports and presentations that shape strategic initiatives for student success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the design, implementation, and facilitation of focus groups and brainstorming sessions involving students and staff.
Translates nuanced quantitative and qualitative findings into actionable insight and collaborates with the Student Success team to develop recommendations for the Senior Associate Provost for Student Success Strategies, ensuring alignment with the institution’s vision for targeted student support.
Assists in preparing written reports and presentation materials using tools such as PowerPoint and Canva.
Adheres to the Student Data Privacy and Confidentiality Policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A full-time student in an undergraduate degree program at The New School in a relevant field, with substantial academic training and demonstrated experience in analyzing data.
Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and presentation tools
Proficient in written analysis and confident in public presentations.
Highly adaptable, with the ability to work independently in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.
WORK MODE
Hybrid -Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions. #LI-DNI
SALARY RANGE
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
