Job Summary
Under the direction of the Home Hospital Pharmacy Director, the Pharmacy Technician Specialist for Home Hospital will follow established policies and procedures to perform a variety of highly advanced strategic, quality focused, and distribution support tasks that are integral to the success of the Home Hospital pharmacy operation. Tasks include responsibilities of technical training, compliance, and participation in departmental projects and initiatives. These tasks are designed to support the department in the preparation and delivery of pharmaceutical supplies and medications in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and other regulatory agencies as applicable.
The MGB (Mass General Brigham) Home Hospital (HH) is an innovative strategic service line aiming to improve patient care by shifting it out of hospitals and into the home-based environment, increasing hospital capacity and reducing total costs of care. MGB provides expert, hospital level care to eligible patients from trusted providers in the comfort of their own home. With 24/7 remote vital sign monitoring, multiple visits from clinicians every day, sophisticated telehealth technology, and an integrated team that is available around the clock, Home Hospital provides all the same world-class services you would receive during a traditional hospital stay, held to the same rigorous standards for quality. Pharmacy departments at five sites throughout MGB current provide pharmacy services to patients admitted through Home Hospital including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Salem Hospital, and Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
Licenses and Credentials
Pharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT]
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
Experience
Pharmacy Technician experience 3-5 years required PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) certification preferred

Work schedule will generally be 8:00am-4:30pm five days per week with some rotating evenings and opportunity for hybrid work.
Who You’ll Care For
As part of the Home Hospital team, you will support adult patients who are receiving hospital-level care at home. Our patient population is diverse and includes individuals experiencing:
• Acute, complex medical conditions
• Heart failure
• COPD exacerbations
• Pneumonia
• Cellulitis
• Dehydration
These patients may require close monitoring, mobility support, assistance with daily personal care, and compassionate presence as they stabilize and recover in the comfort of their own homes.
