The Legal Counsel, Environmental and Remediation will provide competent, practical, and timely legal advice concerning global environmental and remediation matters to enable The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and its teams to comply with applicable laws/regulations, minimize legal/financial liabilities, protect and advance corporate interests, and preserve corporate assets.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Maintain close coordination with Goodyear's Vice President, EHS and Business Continuity and global and regional EHS and legal teams to advise on and manage global environmental compliance programs and matters
Manage the legal portfolio of Goodyear's global environmental remediation matters
Maintain close coordination with Goodyear's Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer and Senior Manager, Global Remediation
Interface with other Goodyear organizations (Risk Management; Finance; Tax; Accounting; Real Estate; Business Development; Communications) and other members of the Global Law Department (including Contracts Center of Excellence) in connection with global environmental remediation matters
Manage and coordinate defense strategies for formal regulatory citations, claims, litigation, and similar actions for global environmental matters, and provide legal support for incident management and response efforts, and manage Goodyear's outside environmental and remediation counsel
Conduct investigations into global environmental incidents, ethics hotline complaints, and regulatory complaints, and advise on the development of corrective actions and reports of findings to senior leadership
Develop/conduct training for key stakeholders on relevant environmental and remediation matters

Key Skills
Law degree from an accredited United States law school and a member of the bar (not state specific)
4 or more years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department
Demonstrated leadership experience
Demonstrated experience serving clients in a fast-paced corporate environment (including client counseling experience)
