Department
CHS Family Practice PhysJob Summary
The Denver Health Medical Center Department of Family Medicine is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Junior Faculty Fellow (1.0 FTE). This unique 12-month Fellowship offers candidates a year to enhance their Family Medicine training typically in one or two areas of focus, while continuing to grow in the broad scope of Family Medicine clinical practice. Fellows will choose areas of focus that will enhance their development; prepare them to be leaders in education, academic or clinical Family Medicine; and enhance the environment in which they work. Fellows teach other trainees and participate in scholarly work mentored by the Fellowship Director or an agreed upon Mentor. Fellows also learn the multiple systems involved with primary care in a safety net setting.
Other training experiences will be designed by the fellow and the Fellowship Director and/or agreed upon Mentor. Further curriculum details are available through from the Fellowship Director. This Fellowship is 12 months and begins July 1; applicants interested in a different start date should speak with the Fellowship Director. Completion of the Fellowship does not guarantee future employment at Denver Health or the University of Colorado, although our goal is to position Fellows for academic or leadership positions in Family Medicine for the safety net workforce at any organization.
The successful candidate will have an academic appointment through the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain a Colorado medical license and be board certified in Family Medicine. This Fellowship is not currently open to other medical specialties.
