How you will create an impact:
•Under manager’s direction, to assess, evaluate risks and apply proper pricing, underwriting and risk retention standards on new business and renewals
•Serves as a resource for agents/brokers/underwriters, recommends appropriate coverage for risk submitted and assists in resolving complex problems
•Checks policies/endorsements when needed
•Reviews new application/renewal requests
•Provides technical advice to Claims regarding scope of coverage, interpretation of wordings, etc.
•Interact and negotiate with clients directly when needed
•Keeps Underwriting Manager aware of all major underwriting issues
•Participate in AIG corporate AML training, and be obligated to perform AML related duties, including KYC, large/suspicious transaction reports, high-risk customer reports etc.
•Ad-hoc tasks/projects assigned by managers.
What you’ll need to succeed:
•Bachelor Degree is a must and Master Degree is preferred
•Professional insurance qualifications is a plus e.g. ACII, ANZII, CPCU etc.
•Certain insurance industry experience in commercial lines, and financial lines underwriting experience would be preferred
•Good communication and interpersonal skills. Like to deal with people. Able to handle public speaking
•Good PC skills
•Fluent spoken and written Chinese/Mandarin. Effective spoken and written business English
•Commitment to becoming an insurance professional
