Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.
This is a 10-week summer internship (June 8 through August 14) designed for students entering the summer before they graduate. You'll be based in San Francisco and embedded directly in our sales org, learning what it takes to build pipeline from scratch at one of the most exciting companies in AI.
As an SDR Intern at Cursor, you'll get hands-on experience at the tip of the spear of pipeline generation. You'll learn the fundamentals of outbound sales, work real commercial accounts, and develop a deep understanding of how Cursor transforms developer productivity. This isn't a "sit in the corner and watch" internship. You'll be cold calling, writing outbound sequences, working events, and shipping projects that the team can actually use.
You'll be paired with a buddy from day one and spend time with leaders across the GTM org, including Sales Leadership, Marketing, RevOps, and Growth.
Learn the fundamentals of outbound prospecting: cold calling, email writing, LinkedIn outreach, and multi-channel sequencing
Research target accounts and map stakeholders across Engineering, Product, and Leadership to identify the right entry points
Work live commercial accounts and conduct real discovery conversations with prospects
Support and follow up on Cursor events (including the Compile Cursor Event in June)
Contribute to GTM systems engineering projects, including revamping sequences and enriching event lists
Cold call closed/lost accounts to re-engage pipeline
Participate in pitch competitions, persona roleplays, and a cold call tournament
Partner with Account Executives, Marketing, and Growth teams
Learn how to build strong AE partnerships, including writing prep docs and understanding competitive positioning
Ship something real: find a gap on the team, fill it, and build an experiment the team can actually leverage
Build with Cursor throughout the program
You're entering the summer before you graduate (undergraduate or graduate)
You're interested in a career in sales, business development, or go-to-market roles at a technology company
You're curious about how software gets built and excited by the idea that AI is fundamentally changing the craft
You write and speak with clarity and can explain a complex product simply and tailor your message to a technical audience
You're a self-starter who takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told what to do
You have thick skin and genuine resilience: you don't take rejection personally and you bounce back fast
You're organized and data-driven: you track your activity, learn from your numbers, and iterate quickly
You want to grow into a full-time SDR or Account Executive role and are willing to put in the reps to get there
Bonus: prior experience in sales, customer-facing, or business development roles (SDR/BDR experience at a SaaS or developer tools company is a strong plus)
