Your Role
The Vice President, AI and Data is a senior executive leader within Baxter’s Global IT organization, accountable for shaping and executing the enterprise AI and data strategy. Working with the Chief Information Officer, this role is the executive owner of theend‑to‑endAI and data value chain, delivered in close partnership with Business, Digital, R&D, AI Governance, and Functional leadership.
This leaderestablishesBaxter’s enterprise data foundation as a trusted, governed, and scalable asset and translates it intoAI‑enabledcapabilities that accelerate revenue growth, operational excellence, clinical and product innovation, patient safety, and competitive differentiation across Baxter’s global businesses. The VP serves as a senior partner to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, Operating Committee, and Board on AI and data matters.
Scope of Responsibility
Global accountability across North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM
Leadership of a 250+ person global organization, including internal teams and strategic partners
Ownership of enterprise AI and data platforms, products, and governance across all business divisions and corporate functions
Responsibility for amulti‑yearAI and data investment portfolio with shared accountability for measurable ROI
Ongoing engagement with the CIO, IT Senior Leadership Team, AI Governance, and enterprise executives
Whatyou’llbe doing
Define, own, and implement Baxter’s enterprise AI and data strategy aligned with IT, Digital, and Business priorities
Lead enterprise capabilities across data engineering and platforms, data integration, master data management, analytics, BI, and AI delivery
Translate strategy into amulti‑yearroadmap with clear business outcomes, investment priorities, and value realization
Drive AI and data science delivery across ML, advanced analytics, and Generative AI using modernMLOpsand agile practices
Ensure data is trusted, governed, reusable, andAI‑ready, while championing ethical, responsible, andregulatory‑compliantAI
Partner closely with senior leaders across Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, HR, Legal, and IT
Build, develop, and lead ahigh‑performing, globally distributed AI and data organization
Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership and represent Baxter with external partners, technology providers, and the broader AI ecosystem
Whatyou’llbring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree (MS, PhD, or MBA) strongly preferred
15–20 years of progressive experience across IT, data, analytics, and AI, including 10+ years in senior leadership roles leading global teams
Proven success defining and delivering enterprise AI and data strategies with measurable business impact
Deep experience across data platforms, analytics, AI/ML/GenAI, and AI governance
Proven effectivenessoperatingin highly regulated environments (medtech, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences preferred)
Strongtrack recordof attracting, developing, andretainingtop global talent
Preferred
Direct experience in MedTech or Life Science with familiarity with global regulatory frameworks
Leadership oflarge‑scaledata modernization and AI platforms
Executive‑levelpartnership with CEO, Board, and Operating Committee on enterprise transformation initiatives
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $304,000-$380,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
