We are looking for a Parachute System Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and qualification of parachute systems and their associated mechanisms for aerospace vehicles.
This role emphasizes structural analysis, mechanism design, and system-level integration, ensuring safe and reliable deployment and operation under demanding flight conditions.
Lead the conceptual and detailed design of the different systems involved in the parachute deployment chain.
Own technical documentation, including requirements, design reports, analysis summaries and test plans.
Support the integration of the system into overall vehicle architecture, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team (mechanical, thermal, avionics, AIT, etc.) .
Evaluate mechanical and thermal loads, material selection, and interface requirements for the development of the systems.
Perform sizing calculations for the different assemblies included in the system.
Define and execute development test plans, from engineering model concept up to qualification reviews.
Define test configuration, instrumentation, and data analysis to validate performance of the systems.
Coordinate with suppliers and external partners for hardware sourcing, qualification, and compliance.
Support trade-off studies involving weight, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety margins.
Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
5 years of experience in space systems engineering, preferably in the development of deceleration systems and/or mechanisms.
Experience in space systems qualification and integration.
Basic Knowledge of CAD and FEA tools (e.g., Siemens NX, Hyperworks), and hand calculations for structural sizing.
