We're looking for a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer who can take Smallest.ai's voice AI from a working API to a production deployment inside the customer's environment.
At Smallest.ai, deployments are where our technology meets the real world - telephony stacks, CRMs, contact centers, and complex enterprise workflows. You'll embed with customer teams, design and build voice agents tailored to their use case, integrate with their existing systems, and own the technical success of every rollout.

Customer Deployments
Own end-to-end technical delivery from discovery to production
Design solution architecture for each customer's use case
Drive pilots, go-lives, and scale-up across thousands of concurrent calls
Voice Agent Development
Build and tune voice agents for support, sales, collections, and recruitment use cases
Handle prompt design, knowledge base integration, function calling, and conversation flow
Tune for latency, accuracy, barge-in handling, and human-quality conversation
Integrations & Engineering
Integrate Smallest.ai with telephony providers, CRMs, ATS, and EHR/EMR systems
Write production Python services, webhooks, and custom tool integrations
Debug live voice pipelines under production load
Measurement & Iteration
Define and instrument the metrics that matter for each customer
Run continuous improvement cycles based on real call data
Codify recurring patterns into reusable templates and feed insights back to product
Strong, hands-on engineering experience shipping production Python
Solid grasp of REST APIs, webhooks, websockets, and real-time systems
Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs (prompting, RAG, tool calling, evals)
Strong customer-facing skills, comfortable leading discovery and technical conversations
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup setup
Experience with voice AI, telephony, or contact center infrastructure (SIP, WebRTC, Twilio, etc.)
Experience deploying AI in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, BFSI)
Past experience as a forward deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or technical founder
Experience taking an LLM-based agent from prototype to production at scale
Work directly with enterprise customers on real, high-stakes deployments
High ownership and real impact - your code is on live calls within the week
