Ultrasound Technologists use imaging devices that emit sound waves to create an image that will help physicians assess and diagnose various conditions. There aredifferent kindsof imagingdevices;this includes ultrasounds, sonograms, and echocardiograms.Generally, sonographicimaging devices use a handheld probe, which is moved over the area being surveyed to create a two-dimensional or three-dimensional image. These devices can be used for therapy, diagnosis, and even to guide interventional procedures like biopsies or draining fluid collections.
By joining the Cleveland Clinic team as an Ultrasound Technologist, you will get to work one-on-one with our patients to ensure quality diagnosis and treatment.This is a PRN position within the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) ultrasound department. In this role, you will be scheduled to provide coverage as needed based on patient volume, staffing gaps,PTOand call-offs.This opportunity will allow you to advance your skills, addadditionalexperience within other modalities, and even lead to leadership roles down the lineall whileworkinga flexible schedule.
APRNcaregiver in this positionworksdaysfrom7:30AM – 4:30PM, as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform routine imaging,emergentand invasive procedures to detect pathology.
Safelyoperateequipment andmaintainstandards while performing procedures.
Provide copies of imaging studies.
Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to itsappropriate destination.
Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation and contact service if necessary.
Document incharts upon completion of procedures.
Coordinate and answer questionsregardingscheduling, patient information,networkingand informatics.
Maintain adequate supplies in the work area.
Orient new caregivers andassistin their transition to the work environment as assigned.
Attend andparticipatein monthly department meetings.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
Registered through the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR board eligible
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within18 monthsof hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Twoyears of experience as a sonographer in an acute care imaging setting
