CNC Machinist/Programmer
As a CNC Machinist/Programmer you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment to produce standardized test specimens from various types of metals. Manual machining expertise will also be required. This role requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You’ll interpret complex drawings, create efficient machining programs, and ensure every part meets strict dimensional and surface‑finish requirements.
Location:Louisville, KY
Hourly: $24.50 - 28.50

Your Challenge
Program CNC mills and lathes using CAM software and/or conversational controls
Set up, operate, and adjust CNC equipment to produce precision test specimens
Machine a wide range of materials including steels, superalloys, aluminum, titanium, copper, nickel.
Manual machining of specimens may also be required.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
Optimize machining processes for efficiency, accuracy, and tool life
Perform in‑process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision tools
Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process or tooling improvements
Maintain accurate documentation, including setup sheets, program revisions, and inspection records
Assist with training and supporting junior machinists as needed
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced machining or technical training preferred
Several years of CNC machining experience, including programming and setup
Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)
Strong understanding of G‑code, tooling, feeds/speeds, and machining best practices
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T
Skilled in precision measurement and inspection techniques
Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability, and attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
