Our Neurology Departmentprovidescomprehensive care in treating stroke, neuromuscular diseases, multiple sclerosis, headaches, movement disorders,epilepsy,and dementia. As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will collaborate with fellow staff to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients,familiesand visitors. A caregiver in this position works days from8:00AM –4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assistwith performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance,identifyingmedication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performingtestsand documenting patient care.
Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
Administer specific medications under the direction of the provider.
Maintain equipment, medicalsuppliesand examination areas.
Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, dataentryand patient registration.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting program
Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period
Currentdemonstratedclinicalproficiency
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Medical Assisting certification(CMA, NCMA or CCMA)
Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship
EKG and blood drawing experience
