Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking several Custodial Workers. - Boca Raton, FL.

The Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments across assigned areas. This position performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties using proper methods, equipment, and safety procedures to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and functionality.

Summary of responsibilities:

• ​Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms and/or assigned work areas by utilizing proper cleaning methods.  May include but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming. Replenishes supplies as necessary.

• Cleans kitchens, lounges, hallways, stairwells, offices, conference rooms and other public areas as assigned by using proper cleaning methods.

• Removes trash/garbage and recycle items.  Cleans receptacles and janitorial closets as necessary.

• Cleans (dusts and/or washes) furnishings, light fixtures, and/or air conditioning vents using proper cleaning methods or equipment.

• Washes windows and/or sweeps stairwells.

• Reports building damages or problems to supervisor.

• Performs job-related special projects.  May include moving furniture or furnishings, room set up including linen or changing linen, and minor maintenance as necessary. 

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or completion of 9th grade with one year of appropriate experience required.

Salary:

$16.71 hourly.

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Some nights and weekends are required. This position requires working on an on-call rotation.
