The Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Enterprise Item and Sourcing is a strategic and technical leadership role responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide product sourcing, vendor operations, and item data ecosystem at Crate and Barrel. The role includes end-to-end ownership of vendor-facing processes such as onboarding, purchase order (PO) services, invoicing, chargebacks, item classification, and vendor integration platforms(EDI, OpenText, GTNexus).This position is fully remote

Ensure ongoing stability and performance of legacy platforms (AS400/RPG, .NET), providing operational support across enterprise systems
Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap, aligning with business priorities while supporting modernization and ensuring business continuity through system upgrades, API integrations, and platform enhancements
Oversee delivery of complex initiatives, ensuring high-quality outcomes in an agile environment
Lead and mentor multiple engineering and operations teams, delivering reliable, high-quality solutions while maintaining business continuity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, engineering, business) to design and deliver integrated, scalable solutions
Define and enforce architectural, operational, and integration standards for reliability and scalability
Build and coach a high-performing, inclusive team, fostering collabration, accountability, and continuous learning
Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, and hiring to balance operational and transformation priorities
Drive technical decision-making and champion engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and innovation

What you’ll bring to the table...
10+ years of IT or software engineering experience, including 5+ years managing multiple teams
Proven experience managing and maintaining legacy enterprise platforms (AS400/RPG, .NET) while supporting modernization initiatives
Strong understanding of system architecture, API integrations, distributed systems, and enterprise operations
Ability to operate across legacy and modern technology stacks, ensuring stability and reliability
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to balance operational excellence with strategic execution.
Experience with resource planning, hiring, and organizational scaling
Strong technical acumen with the ability to guide architectural decisions
