JOB SUMMARY
Cox Fleet is currently hiringa hiring areliable and detail-orientedLight/Medium Duty Parts Specialist to support our parts department and team of technicians. This role is responsible for sourcing, ordering, and managing parts for light-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment, ensuring technicians have what they need to stay productive.
Duties and responsibilities
Order and source parts for light/med-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment
Manage inventory levels, including stocking, tracking, and reordering
Procure both standard inventory and specialty parts for a team of 12–15 technicians
Support technicians and service coordinators with timely and accurate parts delivery
Maintain accurate part numbers, pricing, and vendor relationships
Apply proper markup strategies and cost controls
Organize and maintain an efficient parts system
Coordinate across multiple teams, including East Coast operations
Troubleshoot part availability and compatibility issues
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GEDrequiredwith three (3) years of experience in Heavy Diesel/ Trailer parts ordering, or automotive field.The right candidatecan havea combinationofabachelor'sdegree with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in Heavy Diesel/ Trailer parts ordering, or automotive field.
Proficient computer skills, including MS Excel and Word, and the ability to learn new systems quickly, (such as DFS IT Systems, including Web Wrench, MobileFrame, RO Writer)
Common knowledge of the trucking industry; experience with fleet maintenance or other transportation experience in automotive/trucking preferred
Experience in a parts department environment (automotive, fleet, or equipment)
Background with retail parts suppliers (e.g., Advance Auto, O’Reilly, etc.) is a plus
Strong knowledge of light-duty truck and trailer parts
Familiarity with:
Part numbers and lookup systems
Vendor sourcing and ordering
Pricing, margins, and markups
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and apply initiative and creativity on projects.
Positive attitude, good instincts, and self-motivation
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance a variety of tasks
Ability to act with a sense of urgency to fix immediate issues as well as document and address solutions for the long-term.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
