Boeing VancouverBoeing Vancouver is seeking a Business Systems Analyst, reporting to Defense & Government Services Manager working out of Richmond, BC office.
The successful candidate will play a central role in translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements for software products (applications & analytics) within the Defense & Government services portfolio. This involves bridging the gap between stakeholders (business, operations, customers) and the development team to ensure the software products deliver the right value and are aligned with portfolio objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs research and analysis on processes, applications, systems and data to identify functional requirements and business relationships for application or system designs.
Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholder groups to understand and document common pain points and identify capability gaps.
Manages and facilitates workshops with program and customer stakeholders and various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather user requirements and identify potential solutions
Performs exploratory data analysis in collaboration with end-user groups and data scientists to deeply understand the meaning of data and its relationship to business operations.
Works closely with different teams (e.g. Product Owner, Portfolio Leads, Technical team) to ensure issues and requests are addressed in a timely manner and tracked to completion.
Translates high-level business requirements into system specifications that developers can implement. This includes defining data models, integration points, APIs, and any data processing needs, especially if the product involves analytics or reporting.
Defines acceptance criteria and supports User Acceptance Testing to validate solutions meet business requirements.
Creates and maintains comprehensive software, capability, and product catalogues for the military portfolio.
Supports production releases and post-deployment activities, including issue triage and user feedback collection.
Maintains system documentation, training materials, and user manuals.
Provides user training and demonstrations as required.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience with Systems Analyst or Business Analyst using Customer facing software products within a medium-to-large enterprise.
Experience using tools such as Confluence, Jira, Visio, or draw.io to document requirements, process flows, and data models.
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.
Candidate must be eligible for authorization under the Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment.
Must be able to obtain Canadian Secret Level II Security Clearance.
Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding controlled goods.
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Inquisitive by nature, with a tendency to challenge assumptions and probe beyond surface-level requirements.
Familiarity with data analysis concepts and comfort working with structured datasets.
ERP (SAP) knowledge would be an asset.
Knowledge of aerospace industry would be an asset.
Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (IT, Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline), or equivalent experience, with 3+ years in a similar role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information:
This requisition is for a, locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
Starting salary will be based on year of post-secondary education completed, qualifications and experience.
Salary pay range - $81,000.00 - $144,000.00 CAD
