SUMMARY:
The Associate Software & Data Engineer is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and data solutions. This position works under the guidance of senior engineers to contribute to application development, data integration, and product enhancements. Provides exposure to both software engineering and data engineering practices, enabling the development of foundational technical skills while supporting business and technology initiatives. This role is designed as a feeder position into Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer.
Assists in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and system enhancements.
Writes clean, maintainable code under guidance of senior engineers.
Participates in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving application issues.
Supports system integrations and API development.
Assists in building and maintaining data pipelines and data integration processes.
Supports data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
Validates and ensures accuracy and integrity of data.
Assists in development of reports, dashboards, and data solutions.
Collaborates with product owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements.
Supports implementation of new features and system improvements.
Participates in testing, documentation, and release activities.
Works closely with software engineers, data engineers, and IT teams.
Continuously develops technical skills and knowledge of tools and technologies.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: Experience in software development, data engineering, or related field preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC). Foundational knowledge of data concepts and data management. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and teamwork skills
Special Training: Training in various programming languages, data engineering concepts preferred. On-the-job training will be provided to familiarize with specific systems and processes.
