The role
Lead the design, build and run of Rest’s API and Digital Platforms, ensuring they’re secure, scalable and resilient, and aligned to business objectives and regulatory obligations. You’ll lead two teams (API Platform Engineering and Digital Platforms) and deliver platform capabilities “as a service” so product teams can focus on member-facing outcomes.
What you’ll be accountable for
- Set the strategy and technical direction for API & Digital Platforms, including standards, patterns and governance
- Lead two platform teams through clear priorities, coaching and performance management
- Deliver platform services that enable teams to build, deploy and operate digital products safely and efficiently
- Partner with Product Engineering, Architecture and delivery teams to drive consistent adoption of platform standards and services
- Own platform quality and lifecycle (coding/testing/documentation standards, versioning, deprecation and operational readiness)
- Embed DevSecOps (security-by-design, CI/CD and release practices) across the platform SDLC
- Drive AI-enabled engineering (e.g., assisted development, automated testing and security/ops analytics) with strong governance and compliance
- Own platform operations: observability, performance, reliability and resilient release/environment management
- Strengthen platform ownership and vendor governance (RACI, risk and CPS230 obligations) across partners and digital technologies
- Report to senior stakeholders on platform health, operational excellence and value delivered using clear metrics
