Arranging appointments with pharmacists and HCPs, which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular “cold” calling.
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with outlet staff and supporting administrative staff
Service existing accounts, obtains orders and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing and potential sales outlet
Reaching (and if possible, exceeding) annual sales targets
Planning work schedules on weekly and monthly timetables. This may involve working or discussing future targets with the area sales manager/ sales supervisor. Generally medical sales representatives have their own area of responsibility and plan how and when to target healthcare professionals
Keep management informed by submitting activity and results, reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analyses
Regularly attending company meetings, technical data presentations and briefings
Keeping up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company and interpreting, presenting and discussing this data with healthcare professionals during presentations
Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedule, merchandising techniques, etc.
Maintaining knowledge of new developments, anticipating potential negative and positive impacts on the business and adapting strategy accordingly
Developing strategies for increasing opportunities to meet and talk to contacts in the medical and healthcare sectors
Staying informed about the activities of health services in a particular area
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, making recommendations to management
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Develop and maintain close working relationship and business partnership with key chain pharmacy customers to ensure effective relationship management and execution of promotional activities
Actively participate in the marketing activities internally and externally as necessary
Act as a mentor as well as to lead and motivate the sales force to be a high-performance team
Actively engage and develop team to drive change management for the organization development
