The role of the specialty graphite operator is to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, transporting materials, loading/unloading of materials using various production equipment, cleaning, cutting, and/or boxing of carbon/graphite media products. Assist with and become cross-trained on tasks assigned to higher-level Specialty Graphite Operators, with the goal of progressing to a higher-level Specialty Graphite Operator.
This role is working a rotating, 12- hour shift. 7am - 7pm, and 7pm - 7am
Shift differential is offered at 7%
What you'll be doing:
- Safely and efficiently use hoist, slings, cranes, and forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Efficiently and effectively perform routine tasks such as cleaning, cutting, boxing/crating stock, and loading/unloading of materials using various production equipment.
- Operate a variety of equipment, including but not limited to, saws/cutting equipment, hand and battery-operated tools, material crushing equipment, hydraulic press and pneumatic press, customer supplied/owned equipment, floor sweeper and floor scrubber, and part cleaning machines.
- Perform general cleaning duties (e.g., manual sweeping, vacuuming, floor sweeper/scrubber) throughout the plant.
- Accurately complete all inspection and inventory forms as required, utilizing measuring devices such tape measures and micrometers; tape measures are both metric and standard.
- Accurately label raw, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods materials used in the department.
- As assigned by the department supervisor, assist higher-level Specialty Graphite Operators with various manufacturing tasks, including making mixes, moving materials and products, data recording, etc.
