About this opportunity
The Assistant Leading Hand is responsible for assisting their shift Leading Hand to oversee all activities and persons within the production hall. Directly reporting to their shift Leading Hand, working closely with and accountable to the site Quality Officer.
Hours of work: 07:00 to 15:00 Mon-Fri
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Assigning and coordinating the tasks for their shift production team
- Machine operation; ensure machines operate efficiently and produce conforming product.
- Conducting product testing and making the necessary process adjustments of the machine when testing indicates that it is required.
- Conduct all operations in such a manner as to comply with WHS requirements.
- Conduct all operations which comply with Food Safety requirements.
- Conduct all operations in such a manner as to comply with Quality Standards.
As an experienced Machine Operator, you will be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and pay excellent attention to detail.
To succeed, you will also possess the following:
- Previous machine operation experience (Blow moulding experience preferred though not essential)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Capable of troubleshooting and resolving problems at the root cause and the ability to make minor machine adjustments to address efficiency and product non-conformances with the use of small hand tools
- Strong focus on safety and able to apply methodologies to improve processes
- A commitment to quality

- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of HACCP & GMP
- Reliable, punctual, and available to work weekends
- Hold a current NSW forklift license or be willing to obtain one
