The ServiceNow Architect is accountable for the design, structure, and long-term health of the platform. This role ensures solutions are scalable, aligned to business outcomes, and built correctly from the start to avoid rework and technical debt.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the ServiceNow platform
- Define and enforce design standards, patterns, and governance
- Ensure platform health, performance, and upgrade readiness
- Lead solution design across multiple modules (not siloed)
- Act as the technical lead on client demand and internal initiatives
- Design and oversee integrations (Azure, AWS, third-party systems)
- Guide the adoption of AI and automation capabilities within ServiceNow
- Translate business requirements into structured, deliverable solutions
- Balance short-term delivery (MVP) with long-term platform strategy
- Provide technical leadership to developers and future team members
Required Experience
- Strong ServiceNow architecture experience across multiple modules
- Proven delivery of scalable, enterprise-level ServiceNow solutions
- Deep understanding of CSDM, CMDB, and platform data structures
- Experience designing and delivering integrations (REST APIs, cloud platforms)
- Experience managing platform upgrades, performance, and technical debt
- Practical experience applying AI capabilities within ServiceNow
- Ability to operate as the senior technical authority in a small team
- Data foundations – mandatory
- Certified technical architect - desirable
