NBC News NOW is launching a new live two-hour show airing 10a–noon, and we’re looking for a strong editorial leader to help define its voice, pace, and ambition from day one.
We’re looking for a Senior Producer who thrives in live news, leads with clarity in the control room, and elevates every segment with sharp editorial judgment and strong production instincts. This is a hands-on leadership role — guiding a team of Segment Producers, Associate Producers, and Production Assistants while partnering closely with the Executive Producer and Anchors to shape daily coverage.
If you’re energized by building a show from the ground up, confident making high-stakes decisions under pressure, and committed to mentoring journalists, this is an opportunity to have real impact at launch.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the Executive Producer and Anchors to shape the daily editorial vision and build smart, urgent rundowns
- Lead the team through daily editorial meetings, refining pitches and identifying the strongest angles for coverage
- Oversee and elevate scripts, intros, teases, and banners to ensure clarity, authority, and consistency
- Guide Segment Producers from pitch to air, ensuring segments are visually strong and editorially sharp
- Play a key leadership role in the control room during live broadcasts, especially during breaking news
- Ensure all scripts, graphics, and video meet NBC News standards for accuracy, fairness, and tone
- Collaborate with colleagues across NBC to leverage reporting, bureaus, and enterprise coverage
- Fill in for Executive Producer as needed
- Mentor and develop junior producers, fostering a culture of excellent journalism, dynamic producing, collaboration and accountability
